Cracked screens, lines across the display, a flickering or dark backlight and patches of dead pixels can all be fixed. We replace screens on every MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and on iMacs, using genuine Apple parts.
We check what has actually failed before quoting. A dark screen isn’t always a broken panel: it can be a display cable or a backlight circuit on the logic board, which is a different, sometimes cheaper, repair.
Common screen problems
- Cracked display – often from pressure when the lid is closed on earbuds or a pen, especially on thin MacBook Airs.
- Lines or flickering – usually the display panel or its cable.
- Backlight going dark – on 2016–2019 MacBook Pros this is often the display cable wearing at the hinge.
- Coating wearing off – the anti-reflective coating on some Retina screens can be fixed by replacing the display.

Questions we’re often asked
Can you replace just the glass?
On Unibody MacBook Pros (2008–2012), yes, the glass panel is separate. On Retina and later models the glass is bonded to the panel, so the display assembly is replaced.
Will I lose my files?
No. A screen replacement doesn’t touch your data, and we don’t erase your Mac unless you ask.
Can it be done the same day?
Often, when the part is in stock. We’ll tell you when we quote.
