MacBook Air M5 (13 & 15-inch, 2026) Screen Replacement

Apple MacBook Air

Mac Repair London carries out a screen replacement on the MacBook Air M5 from our Central London workshop, for home users and businesses.

A cracked screen on an M5 Air isn’t covered by Apple’s standard warranty. If you have AppleCare+, the service fee is often the cheapest route and we’ll tell you so. Otherwise we can source a display assembly; for the newest models, parts availability can take longer, and we’ll give you a clear timescale and price before you commit.

The M5 Air’s display assembly is the same size and shape as the M4 generation, so we can usually confirm the right part quickly once we’ve checked your model number.

About this model: The M5 MacBook Air, released in March 2026, keeps the familiar design but brings the M5 chip, 512GB base storage and Wi-Fi 7 via Apple’s N1 wireless chip. Every one is still within Apple’s one-year warranty, so for manufacturing faults Apple is the right first stop.

Signs it needs a screen replacement

  • Cracked display
  • Pressure damage
  • Lines on screen
  • Lid damage

How we do it

Before quoting for a new screen, we connect an external display and inspect the display cable, so we know whether the fault is in the screen itself, the cable or the logic board.

On Apple silicon models, some display features such as True Tone may depend on Apple’s parts pairing process. We tell you what will and won’t work before you decide.

Before we hand it back, we test the new screen on a full range of colours and brightness levels and check the camera and sensors.

Before you bring it in

Take a photo of the damage while the Mac is on, especially if the fault comes and goes. It helps us tell a panel fault from a cable or graphics fault.

Questions we’re often asked

My Mac might still be under warranty. Should I come to you?

If the fault is a manufacturing defect and your Mac is within Apple’s warranty or AppleCare+, Apple is usually the cheapest route and we’ll tell you so. Accidental damage, spills and anything outside cover is where we can help, often faster.

What parts do you use?

We tell you before fitting whether a part is an Apple original, a tested part recovered from a donor machine, or a high-quality compatible part, and the price reflects which you choose.

Will my data be safe?

Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is encrypted and tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, our repairs come with a warranty on the work and parts. Ask us for the terms that apply to your repair.
