On the Retina 13-inch the only fix for a cracked screen or peeling anti-reflective coating is a full display assembly. Apple’s old quality programme for the coating has ended, so we fit the assembly ourselves. We also check the display cable, because flicker on this model is sometimes the cable rather than the panel.
About this model: The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro (A1425 and A1502) is still a strong everyday machine, particularly the 2015 model. Memory is soldered and the battery is glued, but the SSD is a removable blade, so storage can still be upgraded.

How we do it
Before quoting for a new screen, we connect an external display and inspect the display cable, so we know whether the fault is in the screen itself, the cable or the logic board.
After fitting, we check for dead pixels, even backlighting, brightness control and the camera before handing it back.

If it still works on an external display, back it up first. Bring the charger, and tell us whether the damage came from a drop, pressure or a spill, as it helps us check for hidden damage.
