MacBook Battery Replacement in London

MacBook battery being replaced

MacBook batteries wear out with use. If yours barely lasts a morning, shuts down with charge left, or macOS says “Service Recommended”, a new battery will make it feel like a different laptop. We replace batteries on every MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro using genuine Apple parts.

Signs your battery needs replacing

  • “Service Recommended” under Battery in System Settings
  • Battery life much shorter than it used to be
  • Shutting down suddenly, often with charge still showing
  • The trackpad stops clicking or the case lifts: the battery is swelling

If the battery is swelling

Stop using the Mac and don’t charge it. A swollen battery can damage the trackpad, keyboard and case, and it shouldn’t be left in use. Bring it in and we’ll replace it safely.

How we do it

On MacBook Pros from 2012 onwards, the 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Airs from 2018 onwards, the battery is glued in, so we remove the adhesive carefully without bending the case or damaging the cells. On older models, including MacBook Airs up to 2017, and on the MacBook Neo it’s held with screws, which makes the job quicker. Every new battery is calibrated and tested before the Mac goes back to you.

Questions we’re often asked

How do I check my battery’s health?

Open System Settings and choose Battery. Next to Battery Health you’ll see either Normal or Service Recommended, and clicking the info button shows the maximum capacity.

Will I lose my files?

No. A battery replacement doesn’t touch your data.

Can it be done the same day?

Often, when the battery is in stock. Glued-in batteries take a little longer, and we’ll give you a time when we quote.
