When a Mac won’t power on, won’t charge, shows no picture or has had liquid spilled on it, the fault is usually on the logic board. We repair boards at component level, replacing the failed chip, connector or power part rather than the whole board.
That’s normally far cheaper than a replacement board, and on newer Macs it’s also the only way to keep your data.
Faults we repair
- No power, no fans and no lights
- Charging faults through MagSafe or USB-C
- Liquid and corrosion damage
- Graphics chip failures on older MacBook Pros and iMacs
- Short circuits after power surges or faulty chargers
- Boot loops and T2 or firmware-related start-up failures
How we work
We measure each power rail against the board’s schematic, use a thermal camera to find shorts and inspect the board under a microscope. Once we know which part has failed, we replace it by micro-soldering and test the board under load before reassembly.

Price
Logic board repair is £450 + VAT on 2018 and later models, and for complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) on any model. Non-complex board repairs on earlier models are from £165 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Is a board repair worth it compared with a new board?
Usually. A replacement board often costs more than the Mac is worth, while a component repair fixes only the part that failed.
What if it can’t be repaired?
You don’t pay for the repair. We explain what we found and, if you need your files, what your data recovery options are.
