MacBook Logic Board Repair

MacBook logic board

We repair logic boards in the white and black MacBook (2006–2010) and the 12-inch Retina MacBook (2015–2017).

Common faults

  • White and black MacBook: no power, failed charging (MagSafe DC-in) and liquid damage
  • 12-inch MacBook: failure of the single USB-C port’s charging circuit, which makes the laptop look completely dead
  • Both: corrosion after spills and failed power components

Your data

On the white MacBook the hard drive is separate from the board, so your files are safe whatever the fault. On the 12-inch MacBook the storage is soldered to the board, so repairing it is also how we recover your data.

Price

Logic board repair is £450 + VAT on 2018 and later models, and for complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) on any model. Non-complex board repairs on earlier models are from £165 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.

Questions we’re often asked

Is it worth repairing a 12-inch MacBook board?

If the fault is the charging circuit, usually yes: it’s a common, repairable fault and it brings your data back with it.
