The 15-inch Touch Bar MacBook Pro (A1707 and A1990) packs a quad or six-core Intel CPU and Radeon Pro graphics into a thin body, which means heat. Add the butterfly keyboard and wearing display cables, and you have the main repair themes. The A1990 (2018–2019) has the T2 chip, so its soldered SSD is encrypted.
The 2018 and 2019 models with Core i9 processors can run very hot and throttle under sustained load. A clean and fresh thermal paste often helps noticeably.

Price
We give you a fixed quote after a free initial assessment, before any work starts. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Can you repair it the same day?
Many repairs are done on the same day when parts are in stock. Board-level work and data recovery usually take a few working days, and we’ll give you a realistic time when we quote.
Will my data be safe?
Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is encrypted and tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, our repairs come with a warranty on the work and parts. Ask us for the terms that apply to your repair.
