Mac Repair London offers repairs for the MacBook Pro 13-inch (2016–2020, Intel) in Central London, from simple part swaps to component-level logic board work.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2016–2020 comes in a lot of variants: with or without the Touch Bar, two or four Thunderbolt ports, and butterfly keyboards up to 2019 then the scissor Magic Keyboard in 2020. From 2018 onwards they have the T2 security chip, which encrypts the soldered SSD. The two famous faults are butterfly keyboard failures and ‘flexgate’, where the display flex cable wears through.
The 2016–2017 A1708 without Touch Bar is the only model in this group with a removable SSD. The Touch Bar models use a T1 (2016–17) or T2 (2018–20) chip for Touch ID.

Before you bring it in
Back up your files if it still starts, bring the charger or power cable, and write down what happened just before the fault appeared. The more detail you give, the quicker the diagnosis.
Which model do you have?
This page covers the MacBook Pro 13-inch Thunderbolt 3 (2016–2020, Intel) (MacBookPro13,x to 16,3; A1706, A1708, A1989, A2159, A2251, A2289). Price
We give you a fixed quote after a free initial assessment, before any work starts. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Can you repair it the same day?
Many repairs are done on the same day when parts are in stock. Board-level work and data recovery usually take a few working days, and we’ll give you a realistic time when we quote.
Can I add more memory while it’s in?
No. On this model the memory is soldered to the logic board, so the amount it shipped with is what it keeps. If you’re short of memory, that’s worth knowing before spending on other repairs.
Do I pay if you can’t fix it?
No. If the repair isn’t possible, you don’t pay for it, and the free initial assessment costs nothing.
