Liquid damage isn’t covered by Apple’s standard warranty. Switch off and bring it in. We clean and repair the board and replace damaged parts.
If your M4 MacBook Pro has AppleCare+, accidental damage including spills is covered for a service fee, which can be cheaper than an independent repair. We’ll tell you honestly which route is best.
About this model: The M4 MacBook Pro (late 2024) added Thunderbolt 5 on Pro and Max models, a 12MP Center Stage camera and an optional nano-texture display. Most are now out of Apple’s standard one-year warranty, so accidental damage and wear are the main reasons they come to us.

How we do it
The first hour after a spill decides a lot. Turn the Mac off, disconnect the charger and don’t switch it back on to see if it survived.
We fully dismantle it, put the logic board through an ultrasonic bath to lift residue from beneath the chips, and then trace and replace every corroded part. The keyboard, trackpad, battery and ports are tested one by one because spills rarely stop at the board.
On this model the keyboard is part of the top case, so if it’s damaged we’ll quote for the top case as a separate item so you can decide.

Before you bring it in
Even if it seems fine after drying, bring it in: corrosion can take days or weeks to cause a failure. Let us know when the spill happened and what the drink was.

Price
Non-complex board repairs from £165 + VAT; complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) from £285 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
My Mac might still be under warranty. Should I come to you?
If the fault is a manufacturing defect and your Mac is within Apple’s warranty or AppleCare+, Apple is usually the cheapest route and we’ll tell you so. Accidental damage, spills and anything outside cover is where we can help, often faster.
Should I put it in rice?
No. Rice doesn’t remove the minerals and sugar left behind, and meanwhile corrosion carries on. Switch it off and bring it to us as soon as you can.
Will my data be safe?
Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is encrypted and tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.
