Mac Repair London carries out liquid damage repair on the MacBook Pro M4, M4 Pro & M4 Max from our Central London workshop, for home users and businesses.
Liquid damage isn’t covered by Apple’s standard warranty. Switch off and bring it in. We clean and repair the board and replace damaged parts.
If your M4 MacBook Pro has AppleCare+, accidental damage including spills is covered for a service fee, which can be cheaper than an independent repair. We’ll tell you honestly which route is best.
About this model: The M4 MacBook Pro (late 2024) added Thunderbolt 5 on Pro and Max models, a 12MP Center Stage camera and an optional nano-texture display. Most are now out of Apple’s standard one-year warranty, so accidental damage and wear are the main reasons they come to us.
Signs it needs liquid damage repair

How we do it
If the MacBook Pro M4, M4 Pro & M4 Max is still running after a spill, shut it down straight away and unplug it. Most of the damage we see comes from the machine being switched back on while still wet.
Our process is a full teardown, an ultrasonic clean of the logic board, then repair of any parts the liquid has corroded. Each connected part, from keyboard to battery, gets its own test before reassembly.
On this model the keyboard is part of the top case, so if it’s damaged we’ll quote for the top case as a separate item so you can decide.

Before you bring it in
Even if it seems fine after drying, bring it in: corrosion can take days or weeks to cause a failure. Let us know when the spill happened and what the drink was.
Which model do you have?
This page covers the MacBook Pro 14 & 16-inch M4 family (2024) (MacBook Pro (14-inch, M4, 2024), MacBook Pro (14/16-inch, M4 Pro or M4 Max, 2024)). The A-number is printed in tiny text on the base, near the hinge. You’ll also find the model in Apple menu > About This Mac. Not sure? Bring it in and we’ll identify it for you.
Price
From £165 + VAT for non-complex board repairs. Complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) from £285 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
My Mac might still be under warranty. Should I come to you?
If the fault is a manufacturing defect and your Mac is within Apple’s warranty or AppleCare+, Apple is usually the cheapest route and we’ll tell you so. Accidental damage, spills and anything outside cover is where we can help, often faster.
It seems fine after drying out. Do I still need a repair?
It’s worth a check. Corrosion can take days or weeks to cause a failure, and cleaning the board early stops it spreading.
Will my data be safe?
Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is encrypted and tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.
