MacBook Neo (13-inch, A18 Pro, 2026) Logic Board Repair

Apple MacBook

Mac Repair London carries out logic board repair on the MacBook Neo from our London workshop, for home users and businesses.

The MacBook Neo runs on the A18 Pro chip, with its memory and storage soldered to the logic board. When the board fails, the Mac and your files are both out of reach, so we repair the board itself rather than replacing it.

If the fault turns out to be a damaged USB-C port, we can often replace that small port board on its own, which costs less than main board work. We test which it is before quoting.

About this model: The MacBook Neo is Apple’s low-cost laptop, launched in 2026 with the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 Pro. It’s the most repairable MacBook in years: the battery is held by screws rather than glue, the keyboard can be replaced on its own, and the USB-C ports sit on separate small boards.

Signs it needs logic board repair

  • No power
  • Not charging through USB-C
  • Liquid damage under the keyboard
  • Short on a power rail

How we do it

Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

At a glance

Processor Apple A18 Pro, fanless, 8GB memory
Storage Soldered to the logic board

Battery Screwed in (no glue)
Power / charging Two USB-C ports on replaceable boards

Before you bring it in

If it partly works (for example charges but won’t start), note exactly what happens and how long it’s been like that. Remember that a replacement board would mean losing the data on this model.

Questions we’re often asked

Why not just replace the whole board?

A new or refurbished board usually costs far more than a component repair, and on this model it would also mean losing the data stored on the original board.

Do I pay if you can’t fix it?

Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
