iMac 24-inch M1, M3 & M4 (2021–2024) Screen Replacement

Apple iMac

Mac Repair London carries out a screen replacement on the iMac 24-inch (Apple silicon) from our Central London workshop, for home users and businesses.

The 24-inch iMac’s display is glued and very thin. We cut it off, fit a new panel and re-bond it. It’s a delicate job because the display and chin are so slim.

The 24-inch iMac’s display glass is bonded to the front with very little margin, and the chin holds the logic board. That means we have to be careful not to damage the board while removing the panel.

About this model: The colourful 24-inch iMac with M1, M3 or M4 is only 11.5mm thick, with the logic board in the chin and an external power adapter that connects magnetically (with Ethernet on some models). The display is glued, storage is soldered, and there’s very little inside to fail.

How we do it

The display on this iMac is bonded to the chassis with adhesive. We cut it away with the proper tool, fit the new panel, clean the frame and re-bond it with new adhesive strips so it sits flush and seals out dust.

Before we hand it back, we test the new screen on a full range of colours and brightness levels and check the camera and sensors.

Before you bring it in

Take a photo of the damage while the Mac is on, especially if the fault comes and goes. It helps us tell a panel fault from a cable or graphics fault.

Questions we’re often asked

What parts do you use?

We tell you before fitting whether a part is an Apple original, a tested part recovered from a donor machine, or a high-quality compatible part, and the price reflects which you choose.

Will my data be safe?

Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is encrypted and tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, our repairs come with a warranty on the work and parts. Ask us for the terms that apply to your repair.
