Need a keyboard replacement for your MacBook Pro 13-inch Retina? We carry out this work in-house at our London workshop, with a fixed quote before we start.
On the Retina models the keyboard is riveted to the top case rather than screwed. We remove the battery, logic board and trackpad, drill out the rivets, fit the new keyboard and secure it. It’s labour-intensive, but cheaper than a full top case with battery.
About this model: The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro (A1425 and A1502) is still a strong everyday machine, particularly the 2015 model. Memory is soldered and the battery is glued, but the SSD is a removable blade, so storage can still be upgraded.

How we do it
The keyboard is riveted to the top case. We either fit a complete top case assembly (which includes the keyboard and, on many models, a new battery), or remove the rivets and secure a new keyboard, depending on which is better value for your machine.
We fit UK-layout keyboards as standard and test every key, the backlight and Touch ID (where fitted) before returning the Mac.

Yes. This model uses a removable apple ssd blade, and swapping to an SSD at the same time is often the best-value upgrade you can make.
