iMac 27-inch & Retina 5K (2012–2020) Graphics (GPU) Repair

Apple iMac

Mac Repair London carries out graphics (GPU) repair on the iMac 27-inch (2012–2020) from our Central London workshop, for home users and businesses.

Graphics on the 27-inch range from NVIDIA GT and GTX chips to AMD Radeon R9 and Radeon Pro. Faults show as lines, artifacts, black screens or crashes. We diagnose whether the GPU, its memory or its power supply is at fault and repair accordingly.

About this model: The 27-inch iMac (A1419 and A2115) includes the Retina 5K models, and the 2020 model is the last Intel iMac. It has a RAM door at the back with four slots, so memory upgrades are easy.

How we do it

On this Mac the graphics hardware sits on a separate card or module, so we test it in isolation, repair or replace it, and clean the cooling path so the new card doesn’t overheat.

Before anything is done, we explain the cost against the value of your machine, and if a repair doesn’t make sense, we’ll still help you get your data off.

Photograph the screen when the fault appears. Stripes, blocks and colour patterns each point to different causes.

All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
