An iMac is often the family computer, holding years of photos and documents. When it stops starting or its drive fails, we can usually recover them.
How it works on your iMac
Hard drives (up to 2019): we remove the drive and image it on write-blocked recovery equipment, then extract your files. Clicking or failing drives are imaged sector by sector first.
Fusion Drives: a small SSD and a hard drive working as one volume. We image both parts and rebuild the volume. If one part has failed, we recover what’s possible and explain the result.
iMac Pro, 2020 27-inch and Apple silicon iMacs: the storage is encrypted by the T2 or Apple silicon chip, so we repair the logic board or power supply first.

Questions we’re often asked
Several people used our iMac. Can you recover everyone’s files?
Yes. Tell us which user accounts matter most, and whether FileVault was on, and we’ll recover those first.
