MacBook Neo (13-inch, A18 Pro, 2026) Liquid Damage Repair

Apple MacBook

If your MacBook Neo needs liquid damage repair, our London technicians can help. Switch it off, don’t charge it, and bring it in as soon as you can.

A spill on the MacBook Neo goes through the keyboard towards the logic board. We open it, clean the board ultrasonically, repair corroded parts and test the keyboard, trackpad and ports.

Because the keyboard and USB-C ports are separate parts on the Neo, a spill that only reached them often costs less to fix than on other MacBooks.

About this model: The MacBook Neo is Apple’s low-cost laptop, launched in 2026 with the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 Pro. It’s the most repairable MacBook in years: the battery is held by screws rather than glue, the keyboard can be replaced on its own, and the USB-C ports sit on separate small boards.

Signs it needs liquid damage repair

  • Won’t power on
  • Keys not working
  • USB-C ports not charging
  • Trackpad unresponsive

How we do it

If you’ve just spilled something: switch the Mac off, unplug it, don’t try to turn it on or charge it to ‘check’, and don’t put it in rice. Corrosion keeps spreading while there’s power on the board.

Once it’s apart, the board is cleaned ultrasonically, dried, and inspected under the microscope. Corroded components are replaced, and then we check the battery, keyboard, trackpad and ports individually.

If the keyboard was damaged, we’ll quote for it as a separate item so you can decide.

At a glance

Years 2026
Processor Apple A18 Pro, fanless, 8GB memory
Storage Soldered to the logic board
Memory Unified memory inside the chip package (not upgradeable)
Battery Screwed in (no glue)
Power / charging Two USB-C ports on replaceable boards

Before you bring it in

Keep it switched off and unplugged, open the lid into an upside-down V to drain it, and bring it in as quickly as you can. Tell us what was spilled: sugary and salty drinks corrode faster than water.

Price

Liquid damage repair to the logic board is £450 + VAT on this model. If other parts were damaged too, we quote for them separately. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.

Questions we’re often asked

Should I put it in rice?

No. Rice doesn’t remove the minerals and sugar left behind, and meanwhile corrosion carries on. Switch it off and bring it to us as soon as you can.

Will my data be safe?

Yes. We don’t wipe your Mac unless you ask. On this model the storage is tied to its original board, so we never swap the board without explaining what that would mean for your data.

Do I pay if you can’t fix it?

Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
