MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 & M2 (2020–2022) Screen Replacement

Apple MacBook Pro

If your MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 & M2 needs a screen replacement, our London technicians can help, usually with a quote on the same day you bring it in.

The A2338 display is a single assembly. Cracks from pressure are common. We check the cable and board before replacing it, and explain that on Apple silicon Macs features such as True Tone may depend on Apple’s parts pairing.

The A2338 display looks like the Intel 2020 13-inch display but isn’t always compatible, so we order by exact model and chip rather than by appearance.

About this model: The 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 (2020) and M2 (2022) shares model number A2338 and the older Intel-era chassis, complete with Touch Bar and a fan. It’s reliable, but the screen is as vulnerable to pressure cracks as the M1 Air, and the Touch Bar can fail after spills.

How we do it

We first check the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 & M2 on an external monitor. If that works, the fault is in the display or its cable; if not, the logic board is involved, which changes the repair.

With recent Macs, features such as True Tone can rely on Apple’s pairing of the new display to the Mac. You’ll know what to expect before we start.

After fitting, we check for dead pixels, even backlighting, brightness control and the camera before handing it back.

Before you bring it in

If it still works on an external display, back it up first. Bring the charger, and tell us whether the damage came from a drop, pressure or a spill, as it helps us check for hidden damage.

What parts do you use?

Genuine Apple parts. We test each one after fitting so you know the repair is right before you collect it.

Do you need to erase my Mac?

No. Your files stay where they are. We only need your password if you’d like us to test macOS after the repair, and we’ll ask before we log in.
