MacBook Air M5 (13 & 15-inch, 2026) Logic Board Repair

Apple MacBook Air

Mac Repair London carries out logic board repair on the MacBook Air M5 from our London workshop, for home users and businesses.

The M5 Air keeps the processor, unified memory and SSD on a single logic board. A board fault stops the whole Mac, and because the storage is encrypted by the chip, a board swap would mean losing everything on it. We repair the original board so your data stays put.

We repair board damage that Apple’s warranty doesn’t cover, such as spills, drops and charger faults, and we’ll tell you honestly if Apple is the better route for your fault.

About this model: The M5 MacBook Air, released in March 2026, keeps the familiar design but brings the M5 chip, 512GB base storage and Wi-Fi 7 via Apple’s N1 wireless chip. Every one is still within Apple’s one-year warranty, so for manufacturing faults Apple is the right first stop.

Signs it needs logic board repair

  • No power after a spill or drop
  • Not charging
  • Liquid corrosion
  • Short on a power rail

How we do it

Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

Before you bring it in

If it partly works (for example charges but won’t start), note exactly what happens and how long it’s been like that. Remember that a replacement board would mean losing the data on this model.

Questions we’re often asked

Why not just replace the whole board?

A new or refurbished board usually costs far more than a component repair, and on this model it would also mean losing the data stored on the original board.

Do I pay if you can’t fix it?

Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
