MacBook Air 13-inch (2010–2017) Logic Board Repair

Apple MacBook Air

If your MacBook Air 13-inch needs logic board repair, our London technicians can help, usually with a quote on the same day you bring it in.

Most 13-inch Air board faults come from liquid, but we also see failed power circuits, charging faults and dead USB ports. We repair to component level and replace failed chips, connectors and power parts rather than swapping the whole board.

About this model: The 13-inch MacBook Air (A1369 and A1466) ran for seven years with the same wedge design, and the 2017 model was sold until 2019, so there are a lot of them. Memory is soldered, but the SSD is a removable blade, the battery is screwed in, and the keyboard can be replaced separately from the top case.

Signs it needs logic board repair

  • No power
  • Charging fault
  • Liquid corrosion
  • Fan runs but no display

How we do it

Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

Non-complex board repairs from £165 + VAT; complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) from £285 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.

Questions we’re often asked

Will you need my password?

How long does a board repair take?

Most take a few working days, including testing. Complex liquid damage can take longer, and we keep you updated.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, our repairs come with a warranty on the work and parts. Ask us for the terms that apply to your repair.
