Mac Repair London carries out logic board repair on the Mac mini M4, M6 & M5 Pro from our London workshop, for home users and businesses.
Whether its storage sits on a removable module or is built onto the board, it’s paired with the chip on the logic board and encrypted. Moving it to another Mac won’t bring your files back; repairing the original board will.
Most of these minis are young, so we mainly see power problems, surge damage and port faults. We check the internal power supply and the storage module first, then repair the board at component level if that’s where the fault is.
About this model: The redesigned 5-by-5-inch Mac mini arrived with M4 and M4 Pro in 2024, and the 2026 update brought the M6 and M5 Pro chips. The power button is on the underside, and the M4 model’s storage sits on a removable module rather than being soldered.

How we do it
Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

Before you bring it in
Bring the power cable. Note whether you see any lights, hear the fans or get a start-up chime, and whether there was a power cut or surge before it stopped working. Remember that a replacement board would mean losing the data on this model.

Price
Logic board repair for this model is £450 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Why not just replace the whole board?
A new or refurbished board usually costs far more than a component repair, and on this model it would also mean losing the data stored on the original board.
Do I pay if you can’t fix it?
Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
