Mac Repair London carries out logic board repair on the MacBook Air 15-inch M2 & M3 from our London workshop, for home users and businesses.
The 15-inch Air uses the same fanless Apple silicon design as the 13-inch: the processor, unified memory and SSD all sit on one logic board. When that board fails, everything stops, and because the storage is encrypted by the chip, a replacement board would mean losing your files. We repair the original board at component level instead.
Most board faults we see on this model follow a spill through the keyboard or a damaged charger or cable, and they show up in the charging and power circuitry, which is repairable.
About this model: The 15-inch MacBook Air (A2941 with M2, A3114 with M3) gives you a big screen in a thin, fanless body. The large, thin lid is its vulnerability: screens crack from drops and pressure.
Signs it needs logic board repair
- No power or no charging
- Charges but won’t start
- Liquid corrosion
- Short on a power rail
How we do it
Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

Before you bring it in
If it partly works (for example charges but won’t start), note exactly what happens and how long it’s been like that. Remember that a replacement board would mean losing the data on this model.
Which model do you have?
This page covers the MacBook Air 15-inch M2 & M3 (2023–2024) (Mac14,15 / Mac15,13; A2941, A3114). The A-number is printed in tiny text on the base, near the hinge. You’ll also find the model in Apple menu > About This Mac. Not sure? Bring it in and we’ll identify it for you.
Price
Logic board repair for this model is £450 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Why not just replace the whole board?
A new or refurbished board usually costs far more than a component repair, and on this model it would also mean losing the data stored on the original board.
Do I pay if you can’t fix it?
Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
