Need graphics (GPU) repair for your Mac Pro (2013 cylinder)? We carry out this work in-house at our London workshop, with a fixed quote before we start.
The FirePro D300, D500 and D700 cards fail from heat, causing artifacts, freezes or no display. Apple’s programme has ended. We diagnose which card has failed and replace or repair it, then clean the thermal core so the replacement doesn’t overheat.
About this model: The 2013 ‘trash can’ Mac Pro (A1481) was sold until 2019. It has a central thermal core, four RAM slots, a proprietary PCIe SSD blade and dual AMD FirePro GPUs.

How we do it
On this Mac the graphics hardware sits on a separate card or module, so we test it in isolation, repair or replace it, and clean the cooling path so the new card doesn’t overheat.
Before anything is done, we explain the cost against the value of your machine, and if a repair doesn’t make sense, we’ll still help you get your data off.

Before you bring it in
If it works intermittently, note when it fails (start-up, games, video, external display). Back up whenever it does start, in case the fault worsens.
Which model do you have?
This page covers the Mac Pro cylinder (2013) (MacPro6,1; A1481). The model is listed under Apple menu > About This Mac and printed on the base of the unit. Not sure? Bring it in and we’ll identify it for you.
Price
Non-complex board repairs from £165 + VAT; complex repairs (liquid, lightning or GPU faults) from £285 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Can you repair it the same day?
Many repairs are done on the same day when parts are in stock. Board-level work and data recovery usually take a few working days, and we’ll give you a realistic time when we quote.
Do I pay if you can’t fix it?
No. If the repair isn’t possible, you don’t pay for it, and the free initial assessment costs nothing.
