About this model: The 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (A2141) fixed the keyboard problem by bringing back scissor switches, and added a better thermal design and a 100Wh battery. It’s still an Intel machine with Radeon Pro 5000-series graphics, so heat is its main enemy.

How we do it
Our full disassembly and cleaning service (from £95 + VAT) removes dust from the fans and heatsink fins, replaces dried thermal paste and checks the fans run at the correct speeds.
We then run a sustained load test to check temperatures and performance stay stable. If a fan or temperature sensor has failed, we replace it.

Keep it on a hard, flat surface and check Activity Monitor for any app using a lot of CPU. If it’s still hot with nothing running, it’s time for a service.
