Mac Repair London carries out logic board repair on the MacBook Air M4 from our London workshop, for home users and businesses.
On the M4 Air the processor, unified memory and SSD share one logic board, so a board fault takes everything down, including access to your files. Replacing the board would erase the data; repairing it keeps it.
Mechanically the M4 Air is very close to the M3 Air, so our board repair procedures carry straight over. Typical faults are in the charging and power circuits after a spill, a drop or a damaged cable.
About this model: The M4 MacBook Air (2025) keeps the flat-edged design but adds 16GB memory as standard, a 12MP Center Stage camera and a sky blue finish. It’s young enough that many are still under Apple’s warranty or AppleCare+, and we’ll tell you if yours is.

How we do it
Our logic board work is component-level. We inspect the board under a microscope, measure the power rails, use thermal imaging to find shorts, and work from the board schematics to identify the exact failed component. We then replace that component by micro-soldering rather than swapping the whole board.

Before you bring it in
If it partly works (for example charges but won’t start), note exactly what happens and how long it’s been like that. Remember that a replacement board would mean losing the data on this model.

Price
Logic board repair for this model is £450 + VAT. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Why not just replace the whole board?
A new or refurbished board usually costs far more than a component repair, and on this model it would also mean losing the data stored on the original board.
Do I pay if you can’t fix it?
Not for the repair. If it can’t be fixed, you don’t pay for it.
