Looking for iMac 21.5-inch (2012–2019) repair in London? Our technicians diagnose and fix it in-house, with a quote before any work starts.
The slim 21.5-inch iMac (A1418) sold from 2012 to 2019 and is very common in homes and offices. Many were sold with slow 5400rpm hard drives or small Fusion Drives, which is why they feel so sluggish today. The display is glued on with adhesive strips, so every internal repair means cutting the display off and re-bonding it. Memory is soldered on some configurations and socketed behind the display on others.
Common faults we fix
- Extremely slow performance on the original hard drive
- Fusion Drive failure
- Display damage
- Logic board faults
- Power supply failure

Price
We give you a fixed quote after a free initial assessment, before any work starts. The initial assessment and advice are free, as long as we don't need to open your Mac. If a technician needs to open it and spend time diagnosing the fault, or you need a report for an insurance claim, it is booked in as a diagnostic at £45 + VAT (£54). All prices are subject to inspection, and nothing is done without your approval.
Questions we’re often asked
Can you repair it the same day?
Many repairs are done on the same day when parts are in stock. Board-level work and data recovery usually take a few working days, and we’ll give you a realistic time when we quote.
Can you fit an SSD while it’s here?
Yes. This model uses a standard sata drive, and swapping to an SSD at the same time is often the best-value upgrade you can make.
How much does it cost?
See the price section above. We always quote before starting, and if we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the repair.
