On the A1181 the keyboard is part of the top case, the same plastic piece whose edges famously crack. Replacing the top case fixes the keyboard, trackpad button and the cracked palm rest in one go. On the A1342 the keyboard is also integrated into the top case. We fit replacement top cases and transfer your trackpad where needed.
About this model: The white and black polycarbonate MacBook was Apple’s first Intel notebook and sold in huge numbers, so plenty are still in use. The A1181 models are known for cracked or discoloured palm rests and for batteries that swell.
